The Broken Heart Buffalo Ranch,
located in the Black Hills region of western South
Dakota, provides panoramic views of the Black Hills,
Bear Butte and breathtaking sunsets. The ranch is home
to mule deer, whitetail deer, antelope and numerous
birds to include game birds as well as birds of prey.
There is fencing and corrals to run buffalo year-round.
Bear Butte was named by American Indians as it resembles
a sleeping bear. Bear Butte is a sacred site to many of
the Plains Indian tribes. To the south and west, the
Black Hills rise up with peaks exceeding 7000 feet.
The Black Hills, most of which is public lands, includes
Mount Rushmore National, the Black Hills National
Forest, Wind Cave National Park and Devils Tower
National Monument. The Black Hills region provides a
great variety of activities for outdoor enthusiasts as
fishing, hiking, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling and
camping are typical activities in the area.
